Yeah but removing it is illegal. Tucking it draws attention to the fact that somethings up. Youll see my car in person soon and it really is a pretty good sleeper.

Good luck with yours. Finishing it tomorrow?

Hmm, I might be able to come around for a little while tomorrow, maybe early afternoon. When are you planning to be working on it?

Yeah just got home and forgot my house keys, so I'm crashing at my family's house, I'll refit the body panels and clip the wiring back together tomorrow. The charcoal canister won't be an issue, as i cannot find a new one to replace my existing worn one (ment to replace at 80,000km).

Weird. I haven't removed anything else, just tucked and rerouted. I'm going with a aluminum coolant overflow and eventually ill get a cheap Naspro? washer bottle for more hidden goodies.

Sweet, ill have to have a look. But im still very concerned about the cops. It would only take 1 clever one to escort me to an inspection station and really flower me (lol I actually typed f l o w e r :D)

Paul:

Sweet. See ya tomorrow. I promise I wont make you late to anything this time:D

So spikes, paulF and my na6 weekend warrior owning mate john (cant remember his SN here) came over.

The sparco is finally fully mounted properly, bolted in and ready to go. Saves 14 kilo or so over the factory seat and it fits me perfectly, very supporting. And the heater and fan and every single bit of its associated stuff came back out. It was in for winter to defog the window on frosty mornings but doesnt work anymore anyways. All together since last track day it is just on 60kg lighter. Yep, 60.

Repainted the floor and parcel tray black. Along with getting the engine bay clean. And I flushed the gearbox and engine with degreaser fully. All ready to go now.

We also got 'spikes' toyota COPS setup finished and all up and running. He is using the coils and plugs that weve found for a great price and is beta testing the cops setup and hardware i plan to produce.

For the record, his is a dead stock na6, so all the people who say cops cant be used without an aftermarket computer, well we will see.

Really nice car you got mate, all the work you've put into it is insane.

Actually pretty interested in that COPS system, I've got an NA6, pretty much stock, only performance mods are a cowl intake and a cat-back exhaust. How is the car running so far with the COPS on the stock NA6?

Thanks mate i appreciate that. The photos dont show it but it really is a track pig, it isnt very nice to look at you know?

In real life its a seriously quick daily, but its got no carpet or windows, and the paint isnt like a 4 grand professional job.

The cops are fine so far on the stock na6s. A noticeable amount more power, but not a lot. But a hell more response and much smoother running, especially when cold.
EDIT: Spikes car also has a cai and catback and nothing else.

Im not going to sell the COPS setups until im sure the well priced coils that are aftermarket, are good quality and put up with abuse. Because I know the higher priced yet second hand genuine toyota densos do.

I really want to get these out plug and play and really nice powerful and reliable for 200 or less. But im not prepared to sell them until I know they are oem quality, because im sure ill sell a dozen or so sets fast and I dont want any failures.

Seems like a good place to ask, would everyone find 200 or so a reasonable price for a plug and play COPS system?

That's what I like about your car, not many people go your route and still daily it. I've had mates mention how my suspension is too stiff, uncomfortable and how it's a mission to get in and out of my car. Mind you, my car is lowered, but not anywhere as low as I want it to be, and I'm sure suspension could be stiffer.
But I like that about my car, really want to strip the interior and everything, lighten it right up like you have done. Does not having the carpet make a big difference? For some reason, I can see me burning myself on the metal while the car has been sitting in the sun all day.

I would be interested to pay that for all the benefits the plug and play COPS system allows.

Some passengers dont even notice the carpets not there.

If I were building a nice daily that was light id...

Remove PS, stereo (I love music yet never miss it in a nice sounding and fun car, and just use an mp3 player occasionally, like on a long trip) air con.
Id leave the heater and fan only to demist the window. Id leave the windows in, but replace the triangle windows with lexan. Soft top removal, along with sound deadening and a CF hardtop with the lexan windows. Some BC coilovers, a torsen and 6 speed. Along with some nice light seats. And probably just 10 psi on a tiny turbo.

Thats how ill do my next one. When this comes off the road in the years to come.

Id actually be fine with my current hks setup for a daily, but passengers would whinge. Its really a passenger compromise. Maybe the konis and very stiff kings?

How heavy are the springs on your HKSs?
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
