I recently purchased a used NA6 radio for use in my NA8 (assuming that they are the same). When I have installed the radio everything works, except that the volume is so low that I can barely hear it. All the wiring appears Ok and I was able to colour match all of the wires except one. I joined this to the only other unmatched wire. I tries disconnecting this one however there was no difference. Is the radio dead or have I done something wrong.
Thanks
Pete

I also forgot to mention that when you push a button the radio makes its beeping sound at the normal volume.

Dear all,
For your information I replaced the used radio with another one. Problem solved. I supposed that I had assumed that because the original radios were pretty reliable that it probably wouldn't have been the radio itself. Anyway the problem is solved. Now the new radio works except that the display is broken. I am probably just going to live with this at this stage unless anyone knows what can cause the display to fail.
Thanks
Pete

Vaguely recall something about this, but can't find it at the moment. However, see Garry's posts on page one & page two here:

It's NB8A specific, but might be applicable to the NA6 & NA8.

I had a look through that link however what I was trying to say is that the screen showing the frequency is not working at all. Not really a big deal but I just thought that I would mention it in case it was something that may have occured to someone else.
