odd idle+rev issue

Postby magenb » Fri Jul 22, 2011 8:33 am

Drove home yesterday (~90mins) and everything was fine, stopped home for about and hour and then went to pick the misses up from the station. The car started fine but soon dropped down to 500rpm and eventually stalled. I had to keep on the revs up to stop it from stalling, and in driving it power was way down. It was like water had some how got into one of the chambers. Drove 5-10 minutes like this picked up the misses and stopped off at woolies with it still happening. Came out a few minutes later and it was all fine again.

Any idea's?

Depends on what NB it is!
Known problems with intermittent idle/running are:

NB8A - could be coil packs or plug leads

NB8B - Cam Angle Sensor
2011 NC2 PRHT SE in Dolphin Grey
2001 NB8B in Crystal Blue - Sold :(

its an NB8a, plugs and leads will be easy to change so I guess I'll start there.
