Rotrex kit for NA6

Postby gslender » Thu Jul 21, 2011 9:39 pm

Hi guys...

Just got an email from CCR-Racing in Denmark. They are putting together a Rotrex SC kit designed for the NA6.

They anticipate the kit costing around $2500 Euro (which is about $3320 AUD).

Something like this...

Still getting details etc from them and will update here when I do.

OK, more specifically they arent going to try and call it complete, and throw in dodgy signal modifiers rather than re commend an ecu are they?

You sure do hate people invoking intelligent discussion dont you.

You must prefer that we are all braindead and just believe whatever the profiting parties tell us?

ya get what you pay for mate...
if you want to compair, the JR kit is a similar price and has a "power card" or that crappy one you are talking about,
so one would assume its not going to come with a fully programable ECU for that price...

knowing that standalone ECU's are upwards of 2k...

I have no issues with it not having management. But throwing in a 'powercard' and calling it complete is rubbish and irresponsible. Id prefer they are upfront about it needing management.

I agree. I'm hoping I can use my own ECU.

There are quite a number of very decent standalone ECU's for under $2k which a handfull around the $1000 range. Its too bad the stock Mazda ecu can't be flashed like the older Nissan ones. They have a program and kit called NisTune, its cheap and lets you do pretty much everything an aftermarket standalone would other than hook up additional inputs/outputs - have to stick with the stock set up.

I wouldn't have imagined a rotrex SC would sound like a twin screw that you're expecting?

re: Megasquirt, I'm very happy with the DIYPNP, it took a bit of work to get the tune finalised (odd evenings - would have been faster if I spent more time on it) but it starts and drives like stock with better fuel economy! Build it yourself and save $$$. :)
