OK, I can still get them, and if you're willing to get the key cut yourselves, I can get them for about $16 for 3-5, or $15 for 6-7.
I'm guessing 4 weeks postage.

I'm happy to do the necessary modifications to the case to fit the three button remote and transponder. If you have a two button, then just the transponder.

So we we have Slim and BadBong right now.
Hammer, Rawsouth, you still want one? Anyone else?

Hammer, I haven't got one of the transponders sorry. However, There is a way to remove the transponder from the key that will leave the key intact, so you can put it back to 98% original.

If you're interested in giving it a go yourself, I can track it down for you.

Cheers.

Put me down for one, too.

Hammer, are you looking to incorporate a transponder into your Clubman?

Can I do the same?

Thanks!

PS. I am in Frankfurt (LH J Lounge) until I get my final flight to DUB.
I just did a loop Frankfurt-Singapore-Jakarta and return, nonstop.

No, for my NB8B.

My Clubman has an aftermarket alarm/central locking. So it'll not fit the flip-out key in question.

As long as you have the 2/3 button remote from the previous page, you should be good to go.

I'm sure everyone knows what to do with the list below ;)

1. Slimx
2. BadBong
3. Bizi
4.
5.

2. BadBong
3. Bizi

Do you have to butcher the OEM transmitter to fit it in the flip-up key?

The chip sits loose inside the key, and with a tactical cut, you can remove it, and put it back in if you need. I completely ruined my key, but my learning process is for the benefit of others ;)
I've found the correct type of transponder chips online, but I haven't tested them.

EDIT: the flip key internals need to be slightly modded to fit the chip, so the chip doesn't get damaged, no.

How and where can we get the keys cut?.... (into the flip style that you need for the mechanism?)

A blank blade comes with it. Any locksmith/hardware store will be able to duplicate it. The flip out part actually can be removed to make it easier for cutting.

If you're in Sydney, I may be able to come up with a deal with my locksmith friend. I'd have to ask him though, of course. He's also commented on the good quality of the blade, for the record.

oh carp, what have I got myself into lol. We can cross that bridge when we get to it.
If you want me to do the whole thing, including removing the donor chip, cutting the key, and installing the stuff, I can do it too. That will require a bit more organisation though, obviously.

Well... sounds like it's all Sydney-siders here:

1. Slimx
2. BadBong
3. Bizi
4. Hammer

Bizi should be back in a couple of weeks so if we can organise a weekend to get both the keys and remote done at the same time, that should be ok? In the meantime, we can source the blank remotes AND organise for the key cutter to be present on a nominated weekend.

rhythmstick - how long do you think it'll take to do all 4 remotes at the same time?

I can do the internal mods all ahead of time. The key cutting takes about 5 minutes per key, ish.

I'll be skiing the weekend of the 20th, and taking into delivery time, I'm guessing any time after that should be cool. I'll have to actually speak to my friend about doing it, of course. It shouldn't be a problem though. He may just want you to drop his name in a few places lol. Don't quote me on that though...

Does anyone know a source for the 3 button NB8B housing? My housing is looking a bit worn and I'd like a new one but cant find anyone who just sells the housing.

A little off topic, but you can get just a casing here:
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/mazda-6-mazda-3-transponder-smart-key-casing-16377

This may be useful for those who buy my key, but butcher theirs a little too much in the process.
You'll need to get the transponder out of your key, and put it in this one, of course.
