Crazy.
Found this video a while back:

Love the simplicity and concentration on power to weight as well as the beautiful visibility of all the goods.
FSAE clip:

Enjoy.

Lucky!

Hopefully I'll get the chance to drive something like that one day, like a go kart but with full independant suspension and manual shifting..

It is a silly thing to ask but how does an mx5 compare?

Doesn't.

Our car did 0-100 in <4seconds and had seemingly infinite grip, right up until the point where it had none. It was incredibly hard to drive even close to the limit, but it was a world of fun.

Not the greatest video, but the best I could find. It starts off as a slide show before actually being a video. My head even appears in shot at the 20 second mark.

Thought so.

Looks like incredible fun and quite a challenge.
Crazy having such a light vehicle well set up with such quick acceleration.

Not to mention that the thing vibrates like hell! It was so noisy that when I had a go once, the rear left wheel failed and flew off. I only noticed when the revs started to climb without any speed and half the team were running towards me haha.

To give people an idea of how much grip these things have, our car pulled 1.6 lateral G's constantly for skidpad testing, where the car traverses two circles in a figure pattern. People were exhausted after doing a few runs!
