Velo seats are very good. The Milano is not really a daily in my opinion, it is very basic like a Sprint V but would be idea for someone tall that does not have space for cushions. Note the lack of under thigh cushion.
The GPT is good. All of the cushions can be removed and you could option it in say XL size to suit those of carriage but then get the wings trimmed down to fit in the car...not sure if it would go in an MX5 though I have seen a bright green targa MX5 in WA with Velo seats in it, not sure on the model of seat though.
Those Podium and Apex models...you could live in them. So so so comfortable, not a part of you is left unsupported. I suspect you would need to custom build the transmission tunnel to fit them in.

Ordered a Autotechnica A1098, $299. Should be interesting to see when it gets in.
I fit in that model quite snug and they definitely fit in an NA. Cant lose for $300!

I fit in my Sparco Sprint at 150kg and 6'4. Obviously I now fit better at 85kg. (didn't lose any height)

All my weight is in my legs? (or head)?
It's always been a snug fit but it helps hold you in place in the corners. It is different to get in and out of than a regular seat but I'm used to it now and can comfortably drive long distance in it.

How much do you weigh and how tall are you, if you don't mind me asking?
About 5'10 and 110kg...built for comfort YMMV though, seats are like shoes unfortunately!!
I am longer in my torso than my legs to.

Different Waz
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Might be a good time now to get back any stuff you've lent Dave (before he goes on the trip).

Hi, do the Autotechnica A1098 bolt straight into an NA8? or is some fiddling required? I am told the sprint V ones do go straight in
Cheers

I guess it is not technically true that the Sprint V is a direct bolt in. You find that two pre-existing holes on the rails match up but you need to drill the other two.
I would be suprised if you have to do much more than that to get the Autotecnica seat in to be honest. Remember to have it tilt back slightly, it will give better under thigh support and you will not feel like you are leaning forward.

Is anybody able to confirm if the GPT-2/xl (with trimmed down shoulders) will fit in a NA?

Re: Race seat for the ehmm large?
Maybe find out the dimensions and compare with known seats that fit:

Re: Race seat for the ehmm large?
The base is 510mm compared to the 490mm recommended by FM, so it should fit, but I wanted to double check before I take a day of work just to do a test fit.

Re: Race seat for the ehmm large?
Im keen on this thread too. Im 6'2" and 90-95 kilos and in need of headroom.
I have sat in a Sparco Sprint V at autObarn and I reckon Im only a zinger burger or 2 away from not fitting. I have thought about getting one and using the size as an inspiration to eat fruit.
Looking forward to seeing how you go with the A999C Dave. Keep us informed.
