Re: Install of ITB Kit

Hi All,

I have been looking around and come across this kit on the internet for the NB MX5.

It looks pritty good etc but just wanting your opinions on what else that is not included in the kit i would need to be making sure i add to the total cost.

I am aware that installation and tuning will be a factor but are there any other parts etc or kits around that inc everything?

I know there are DIY instructions to make ones yourself using other parts etc but really don't have the time or patients to do something like that.

Thanks heaps

Im unable to view link cos im on a phone. But most kits do include fuel rail, but not injectors to suit it, as injector requirements vary. If your lucky its designed for the factory ones to plug and play.

Check it has gaskets, fuel rail hose fittings. Throttle cable setup, ie brackets.

Also im sure you do realise this. But these will not work with the factory ecu, and need an ecu that can tune in alpha-n.

It's only about half of what you need. The rest are:
- Engine Management System (MegaSquirt, Haltech, etc) [$600-$1,500]
- Wideband Lambda sensor/controller [approx $200]
- customised throttle cable, fuel lines [?]
- vacuum balancing chamber and associated tubes [$90 and over depending on style and quality]
- Inlet Air Temperature sensor and appropriate mount [?]
- fuel pressure regulator mount and associated FPR (you can use the OEM one, you just need to put it in there somehow) [?]
- air filter (either the "sock" type that goes over each velocity stack [yuk] or one that encloses all 4 trumpets or a pair) Pipercross, ITG etc makes lots of different styles for various carbies. [$80 - $300]

To get an idea of what a complete kit looks like, search for the set Maruha have on offer.

Looks the same and has the same description as the jenvey ones

http://www.jenvey.co.uk/home/standard-k ... it-ckmmz01

but that kit should land in aus for under $1000. ;). This kit is also advertised by Rev9...but with not details

Have you had a chat to rupewrecht? This stuff comes up all the time on Yahoo Japan, and he could get you a much more complete kit for less money.

Google his name - he is on the Astina forums.
