Ill be nice because your obviously very new to cars.

The angle of the wheels is by getting an alignment. How far they stick out is just the offset of the wheels.
You cant lower a car this much for cheap and retain good handling.
The car in your pic is super try hard. That offset with that camber and ride height would be uncomfortable handle like crap and be horrible to drive. Theres nothing high performance about it.

I wouldn't say I'm new to cars but in suspension and wheels I'm quite clueless.
I just want a very low stance and wide wheels that won't make it annoying to drive as a daily.
I was planning on going to the coil over path but it is quite expensive was asking if there's other methods?
As to the alignment I didn't know that it made the wheels crooked like that :O

Cheers for the only reply though.

Not knowing that a wheel alignment can give you camber (or makes the wheels 'crooked') tells everyone your new to cars.

Wide wheels will not give you performance. Neither will going lower than 12iches as the guard, neither will a stupid offset like that car.

I think it looks ok too. But its crap for ride and handling.

Hey Mito - you might want to do a quick search for threads that is about "what is the lowest our cars can go without sacrificing handling".

I'm pretty sure that the car in your pic would have sacrificed some / alot of handling abilities for looks - to each their own I guess.

Hey Dann... take it easy mate... don't scare the new forum mate away

What you want to know you will find by searching:
- "Camber", the car in the pic has alot of negative camber
- "Wheel offset", the car in the pic has a very low offset number.

You may also want to google: "wheel spacers" , "suspension travel", "Bump Steer", "scrub radius", "excessive lowering affecting handling" etc.

If you want to know more about alignment: "caster", "toe", "thrust angle"

This forum has an extraordinarily high tolerance for people who ask questions that would be answered with a 5 minute search. Like this and the what muffler thread every week.

I answered his question. But anyone who thinks camber is called crooked wheels and doesnt realise a wheel alignment aligns wheels is very new to cars.

Many other forums would feel that a reasonable response would be a one word sentence. 'Search.'.

The knowledge of not knowing that camber means crooked wheels puts you in the group of very new to cars is quite outstanding. I do know what wheel alignment means but to get the wheel to that degree I thought there was a different method. If you want to demean people join a social group on facebook, from what I've seen and heard forums are a place of assistance, if you have none or you want to it give it in such a negative way maybe you've had enough forums. I don't post on forums to hear replies from people with your character. So like the song says if you have nothing nice to say then don't say nothing.

And dw there will always be new people doing the same thing on forums that's where the tolerable and decent people should give advice. Not you!

^try clubroadster. Much more stance oriented.

You wont be able to go that low with out coilovers. Cheap ones include HSD TT's, YSR (from mx5mania) and BC's.

Being so familiar with forums you should be familiar with the search button.

Dann,

You can be very helpful at times. But in situations like this, please, just bite your tongue and keep it to yourself. As you can see, it just irritates people.

No hard feelings mate, just be aware of how other forum members read your posts, things can be read many different ways and can be taken in a way which was not intended.

Fair enough. I just need to ignore the weekly repeated threads.

Seeing as we love polls so much, perhaps we should have a poll to gauge popularity of being more like Miata.net, Miataturbo.net or other similar forums?

Dann, you mentioned "forum 'elites'" yesterday in another post: viewtopic.php?f=29&t=47636

But think you'll find there's way, way more elitism on some of those other forums.

Sure it's great to be exploring cutting edge new ideas all or most of the time, but the broad appeal of this forum is its broad appeal.

Poll anyone?

Poll on, but dont include this forum obviously, just others.

I know that other forums can be much worse but usually the 'elites' deserve it some way or another, they dont just decide to form a 5 person group.
I know i have a habit of clicking on the useless weekly bullshit muffler and pod filter threads, and when i do i have a tendency to be too blunt for this forum, bit i very rarely give info thats not very serious. Last person who had a go at me didnt even realise that i was the only person in the ten post thread who gave op an answer, it was the right answer. 100 percent and i gave it in the first reply. He even told us that we should all stand back himself included and wait for the answer. Op thanked me via pm for being the only one who knew how to get a cheap controller for his standalone bosch LSU o2 sensor. He was seemingly too embarassed to thank me in the thread.

But fairs fair, if the forum wants to welcome stupid questions and not enforce the search first rule well im not a mod and ill just stay out.
