Anyone know the weight of it. Tried google and I failed.

NA6 B6 OEM was 18lbs.

FWIW, believe MazdaSpeed chromoly BP flywheel is 8lbs.

The forum 'elites' wont like this answer, but its likely more expensive than aftermarket options, and WAY more expensive than getting the stock item modified. Its also a set weight so you cant just get any weight you want.

Thanks for the info. 3.6kg/8lbs sounds about right. The Maruha fly is that weight also.

Thanks for the advice, I have the option of purchasing the MS Chromoly flywheel from Japan for $250 2nd hand.

Did some more google hunting. Found 2 website with same details:-
Flywheel weight is 6.2kg. Mazda part number QEPE-11-500

I am not sure I would want to get a 2nd hand flywheel - You can get a F1 Racing Chromoly flywheel that is 4.2kg for about $200 new.

why no second hand flywheel? Any mx5 on the planet that has its original flywheel might as well be second hand and no ones worried.
