How much of a difference is the PPF brace meant to make? Looks like it could be good.

Re: charlie's na6
So update for today
Started it up. Ran it for a while the. Took it for a drive on basemap
Then came back noticed an oil leak (all new seals) and it turned out to be at the front of the crank.
So the rocker cover, cam gears, timing case, waterpump etc came off and we replaced that and put it all back together.
Got it running again. Stated doing some more tuning around the block adjusting fuel etc. Started to smooth it out but still had a misfire. So we bought It back in and checks the spark leads first.. They were fine. Then checked the injector plugs to see if they were sending a signal. They all were. Checked injectors and injector 4 is blocked . brand new injectors
That that ended our night. Pretty gutted as I really wanted to get my car done for the downshift 2nd b'day cruise and that this weekend was the last weekend with the equips :'(
Definitely gonna be sad seeing them go Monday. So all in all was a pretty sh*t day. Oh well now we have more time. New injector will be here Monday then we can do some more tuning. Need to somehow seal my dp to the turbo better and to fabricate a new catch can with baffles etc to hold up to the setup.
6uls are on now. Car is raised a little to not look so stupid and yeah.

Re: charlie's na6
I bet the injector pintle was stuck and pushing it firmly on a solid surface would have fixed it.

Re: charlie's na6
Injectors VERY rarely get blocked. But ones lying around do geet jammed. If you look at the business end of one, pull off the pintle cap with your fingers or some pliers and look straight into the end. Youll see the pintle, it looks like a needle. An electromagnet pulls this up inside the injector to unblock the hole and fire it. If you push that pintle down against a solid surface it will unjam. Dont worry its hardened. Its just a tiny bit of rust or whatever forms between the injector body and that pintle tip and the injector isnt strong enough to break it free first go.
My heart sunk when I found that out too. I know a fuel injection shop owner these days, thinks its pretty funny.

Re: charlie's na6
Why would a brand new injector have rust though??
I would be sending it back.
Sux though...

Re: charlie's na6
Because its made of an iron based alloy and its designed to spend its life immersed in fuel 100% of the time for 25 years straight. Like any brand new iron piece develops tiny amounts of surface rust. Its not visible, its only enough to make it a little stuck. Its normal.
