Crash Sensors/ ECU damage records

Postby mshipley » Sat Nov 20, 2010 7:00 pm

I've replaced all the various airbag gubbins and sensors including the SAS airbag controller - the controller was from a non- crash car, but I'm getting an intermittant SAS controller failure light - ie 2 long flashes. SOmethines it'll go away... Does anyone know whether the car's main ECU might be storing crash data that needs to be reset, or do I have to (*sigh*) pull the dash back out and put another SAS unit in? Friendly local garage's snap on meter wouldn't connect to check ECU, but did tell us to gound the SCR terminal in the diagnostic socket under the bonnet three times. Unfortunately didn't tell us which one it was :-(

Can anyone shed any light? Thanks!!

Finally fixed - looks like one of the seatbelt pretensioners was faulty - changed that and got someone to scan the ecu - now all good (fingers crossed) Have set a new persoanl best for getting the dash in and out I've done it so many times!
