Update!
Finally got around to fitting the throttle body inlet tube replacement - the stock one is rubber, and is prone to cracking and stretching under boost.
I opted for the BEGi one, as I preferred the black ripple paint look instead of the chrome that they have on the FM version.
Couple of tips for those of you thinking about this mod, who have the Go Fast Bits plumb back BOV:
The BEGi kit doesn't allow for even the stock outlet fitments on the BOV.
The pipe they supply for the correct fitment to the GFB valve with the correct outlet doesn't fit their own TBI pipe!! (WTF?)
If you have the AEM intake, the rubber hoses on the exhaust side are going to be welded on due to the heat, and you'll have to cut them off.
You'll also need a length of 19mm heater hose - available from Supercheap for $16 - thanks to
Lokiel for this hot tip, in order to refit the BOV to the left side if the throttle body intake, and still join it to the intake pipe on the other side of the engine bay.
Total time was 2 hours including having to go out to get a new set of multi grip pliers, as I uesd to have a pair, but they went AWOL sometime over the years.
I'd post pics, but the engine bay doesn't look all that different - maybe a little tidier is all.
Next up - getting the brain reprogrammed!!
Stay tuned for details.
