No spare will be a pain when you get a flat tyre... I take mine out at the track.

Can of tyre foam is lighter and easier to take out at the track

Good call, but my car is totally budget build and I already have the spare tyre.
I agree, $150 paintjob is rocking. I just live with faded paint.

If I kept that can in my car it would defeat the purpose of holding bumpers on with zipties rather than bolts hahaha.

FWIW, I've painted cars at home with acrylic, and it works well.
The trick to having a gloss finish is prepare well first, lay on a couple of the finish coats, rub back with steel wool, then the next coat 75% your colour and 25% clear gloss. Next coat 50-50, then the last coat 25% your colour and 75% clear gloss.
The finish will be very glossy and will only need normal polishing to keep it that way.

the reason im not doing anything but putting plenty on and buffing it is that when I smack it into something I can just get another panel, run it, prime it paint it. It will take a short afternoon to redo it completely.

Was it cold when you took the pics? Cos your bonnet has two nipples next to the headlights?

Lies, it is because extra coats is extra weight.

I didnt want to mention that, but that is part of it as well. an extra coat on the whole car is 3-400grams. Not going there.

Update, finally buffed, polished and waxed. Ill post some photos in the next few days to show everyone how it really came up, sooo much better than those photos I posted. Heaps more shine than I ever intended. And while it isnt perfect it looks great cruising past and thats all I care about.

Good job!
I painted mine old track car with cans for under $150 too. Looked great for about 10 months now it looks like ass haha. But mine was a satin and I put no clear on it and parked it outside so it was to be expected!
Freshly sprayed satin black in 2009:

i wish I had some photos to show how beaten up mine was. dented doors, dented rear quarters, kicked in front guards split bar etc etc. Im so happy with how it came out, looks tough as now. Ill take some nice photos in a couple days.
