Was considering not doing the 6th June - errm we shall see, now a challenge has been layed down :D

Re your Splitter, what thickness and is it regular ply? 8mm? Im considering ply or sandwich fibreglass construction for mine, but it will extend a lot further forward to match my Diffuser.

Yessss, looking forward to it!

From memory I think I will need to make up 2-3 secs a lap over a 90 sec lap, so these shocks better make a big difference... :twisted:

My board is 15mm thick, I thought the 8mm was too bending. You can use a router to remove material in places where it is not needed to lighten it.

Now that I have resolved my deck height worries, I have continued with my build

I have put all the other pistons and rods in. FYI - if you have got your compressor located and tightened correctly and gental tap with a block of work should pop the pistons in the bores (as below)

Made sure there is plently of assembly lube on there. And then there were 4

Also go my head back from being cleaned, kindly the machine shop I am using did not charge me for the clean and pushing the guides out. So I can start work on this too. I have had a quick look at it, the exhaust ports are interesting, the outer sets are quite smooth on the lower shoulder, but the centre sets have very sharp ridges on. It is almost like they forgot to finish the middle ones.

My oil pump has arrived, so I will be able to complete my bottom end next week

Re getting the pistons the handle of a hammer works well and im sure everyone has one of those around.

Also are you going to port this? I have a very expensive pretty serious port job. If I get the intake and exhaust off before youve gotten that far (probably unlikely though) I can take some photos for reference.

The plan is to do a bit of porting to clean things up, de-shroud the valves (once I have the head gasket), dowel the manifolds and port match the inlet to my new manifold. Not going for bigger valves, putting the money in cams and lifters.

Sweet you wont need pics for that.
You going factory shim overs or aftermarket shim unders? Ive got some pretty big cams in mine and rev it past 8 grand daily and i have no issues with the factory ones.

I have done a bit more work on the engine today - tightened up the conrod bolts using the stretch gauge - I have put a tech guide together on it

Nice vid Simon, I really like your line through the sweeper.

It looks like you're getting on the power earlier than me in most spots, what diff are you running? I think I need more rear grip.

My diff is a viscous LSD. The line of the sweeper is to sacrifice speed on the short tight corners at either end, but gain on higher speed over the distance of the longer sweeper.
