Do you need to order bumpstops or not with coilovers?

Postby gslender » Tue May 17, 2011 7:13 pm

Hi,

I'm looking at some YSR or HSD coilovers (and the same question I think would apply for Tien or other spring+shock coilovers).

Do you need to buy bumpstops, or do they generally get replaced by the combo coilover unit that you replace the existing seperate spring/shock/bumpstop assembly that you remove?

I'm unclear on the times when you do or don't need it.

I was thinking that made sense, as essentially if they come with the top mount (and often pillowball) then you'd expect they would come with the bumpstop integrated all as part of it. Otherwise it would need to match exactly the very same way Mazda OEM did the top mount and shock assembly - and that would probably mean some degree of compromise

Yeah... so when you grab a complete kit, you shouldn't need to also buy bumpstops then... cool 8)
