How do I seperate the two halves of this projector? its from a NA6 foglight unit

it certainly looks like a projector lamp- did not know that early MX5's used this lamp. The NB's merely use a conventional fog lamp. By the look of the lamp it is not meant to be serviced- if there are no screws then the the flanged section looks to be fixed possibly welded or glued. Why do you want to take it apart- the bulb is serviceable? Incidentally the lense in a projector is essentially a magnifying lense.

I want to remove the cut off plate and turn them into conventional projectors. It seems like its glued together or something, there has to be a way to split it apart as it was put together somehow..

A fog light is not designed the same was as a lamp intended for a driving lamp ie short wide low beam versus not so wide but longer range beam. In a conventional style fog versus driving lamp the products may look identical but not operate that way and I would expect the projector is not convertible. The lamp is not intended to be serviceable so if you can separate the housings which have been sealed together then it has to be resealed and may not be so easy to do.
If the fog lamps are working I would be inclined not to try converting them and perhaps rendering them non functional. If you want the lamps to work as a long range driving lamp better to look for either an alternative to fit in the same aperture or merely buy an aftermarket or other purpose built driving lamp for a position on the vehicle which is suitable. If you chose the latter route you would them have fog lamps and driving lamps in addition to the standard high and low beam headlamps.

Had a pair of the JDM OEM ones for an NA & the casing was different to the one in your pic. From memory I disassembled one to have a look at the globe after reading replacement were available. Lens looked the same as pic though.

Thought I read it was possible to replace the globe in these, which I assume would require separating the two halves. Only thing I can suggest is twisting the two halves in opposite directions.
