A/C repair in Brisbane?

Postby jerrah » Sat May 07, 2011 10:13 pm

My A/C compressor died late last week, it was cooling fine but then whilst in traffic had a high pitched squeal and now the clutch doesn't engage anymore when A/C is selected. You can see it's trying but the clutch doesn't engage entirely. There is a plasticy type 'dust' around the nose of the compressor.

I'm on the lookout for a 2nd hand compressor but I imagine I'll still need a A/C guy to flush the system and gas it. Can anyone recommend anyone on the South side of Brisbane?

I (still) have the same issue. If you find someone do you want to see if they'll do a better price for two?

Jack's Auto Air Electrics have been pretty good by me over the years. Has redone the mazda when I got it a and it hasn't skipped a beat since, also done a couple other cars for us. His number is 0402791756.

Hi. we used a company on Moss St at Slacks Creek to install AC into my wife's 121.... They did a good job and were reasonably priced. I cannot remember their name, but from memory they were on the corner as you go through the "S" section of Moss St.

Better have atleast a $1000 to pay for it. If the comp is had it the evaporator, Filter etc. will probably be gone as well. My reconditioned compressor cost about $500 but the whole thing cost $1100 and I only wanted a regas.
BTW, Work was done by a company that I have known for 30yrs so I don't think I was ripped off.
On the Northside though
Graham
