Seat belt buttons faded
Has anyone come up with a good way to get some red colour back into faded seat belt release buttons, mine are more pink now than red, I initialy gave them a little going over with some cut and polish, that brought them back to life a little bit. However that was a while back and now I am back to a fairly light pink.
1990 NA eunos roadster for me, 2007 NC roadster for the misses, missed out on the NB?

Re: Seat belt buttons faded
I know of two things you could try:
Buy new ones
Or you could try vinyl dye. It's what they use to change the colour of vinyl sofas etc, but also does the trick on plastics. It's not a paint, as it actually penetrates the plastic. If you scratch it, the scratch will be the same colour.
Could be what you're after.
Edit: here's a link to a result. The guy used to it change the colour of his cd rom drive on his pc, to seat belt buckle red: http://case-mods.linear1.org/im-high-on-vinyl-dye/

This is my MX5. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My MX5, without me, is useless. Without my MX5, I am useless.

Thanks Rythmstick for that info and the link.
Its been a bug bear, the interior in my 1990 NA is really very good and those seat belt release buttons are an eye sore, they stand out and let the rest down.
the vinyl dye could be a solution to loads of other customising problems that members have not had an answer for.
Thanks again.
