i have a set of super comp YSR coilovers in my NA.
there are still set to the stock settings but the car has been lowered heaps.

they are great!
ride really well!
very stiff turns into corners well and very controllable!

after having a set of tein and cusco coilovers i would rate the YSR just as good if not better than them.

and with a price like that you cant really go wrong!

Which coilovers (specifically YSRs from MX5mania) are you getting?

Remember that if you change your car's ride height you really will want to get a wheel alignment, so factor that in for each height change - or a bit of trial and error testing at your MX5-specialist alignment shop, to get your best compromise of looks and practicality. :)

I've been in a NB with Tein SS and a similar car with PSS9s up OPH but neither the BC or YSR.

I'm even more of a newbie than most newbies here.

Are the main differences between each brand/model of coilover the spring rates/weights, adjustability options and brand name/reputation/popularity? :)

Bizi - I was getting the street ones, but holding back for now as the stock suspension is more than adequate. I'm shopping for roll hoops at moment but it looks like it will be the ones from MX5+.

Ok I've had these in for little over a week and a half now and absolutely loving them. I've done about 600km's on them and I think they've fully bedded in.
I will say that I'm yet to experience the full handling capacity of these as I'm in desperate need of an alignment but the overall change has been fairly dramatic.
I'm currently running them at standard preload and damper though I'm about to double the damper as I feel it's not quite firm enough at the moment.
The cornering is pretty direct but there is a still a little flex, I attribute this to having the preload still set at full springs travel and the damper set on the street settings. I'm going to play with damper before I muck with preload as I know that has to be done precise.

As for the ride, it's very smooth and bounciness is minor. I've had lowered springs in the car before and that was a lot harsher than these coilovers. From what I can tell, they feel very similar to BC BR's.

Oh and I have the street spec set if that helps.

I'm probably keen for a group buy on these coilovers.
I think if i was going to spend almost 3 times as much i'd go with ohlins, otherwise i'm not sure what else to go for in this price bracket.

Mine left rear shock on my premium comps is faulty :@
Apparently it's a blown piston, everyone time I drive there's a knocking noise least there fixing it :)
Other than that pretty decent so far

I am keenly interesting in the street YSR coilovers for my NC.

Does anyone with such a setup have comments about how the ride compares to the stock suspension?

I want to go lower, with better damping, especially in the rear, but can't afford for the ride to be too harsh when out driving with her-indoors.

After much deliberation, I finally decided on HSD (mainly for the good reviews from other cars) and the price being similar.

Read my blog below (in the sig) to see the unbox and eventually I'll post more picture and feedback etc.
