I can't remember how much they were atm. I'll have to go through my bills. I paid for them in November last year on a whim...then hoped and prayed that the seller was genuine. He was and is. He's very, very trustworthy! Tetsuya Garage

I bought the stand and bag of an Ebay seller in the UK called UKCustomCovers. For the quality of the stand and bag it's well worth the money. I can now put my hardtop away in the garage (out of danger), and not have to worry about it collecting dust or getting damaged.

I've actually had the roof on for a month now. Which is silly. I've been disappointed a few times being stuck with the roof on. So, after a month of driving a coupe, I'm looking forward to some wind in my hair. I mean, that's one of the main reasons I bought the car!

I'm also thinking I should take that front badge off. What do you guys reckon?

That is absolute nonsense. The problem with forums is that anyone can write anything and get away with it. I have been a structural engineer and can tell you that both the BD and the MX5+ bars will function as rollover protection simply because of they way they both act as load spreaders.

Of the two the MX5+ bar appears stronger by virtue of its torque box and beefier connection to the parcel tray structure as well as its heavier gauge steel. The MX5+ bar will provide greater chassis stiffness however both bars will add stiffness. The trade off is of course weight. The BD bar is significantly lighter.

I am not disparaging the US rollbars but believe they are overkill and require a significant amount of cutting and shutting of the car. In one of the US rollbars the vertical tube next to the seatbelt tower goes all the way to the bottom of that tower. That is overkill as it is already the strongest part of each rollbar.

To sum it up do not feel in anyway that you have bought the wrong bar.

Ahhh, old cars. Don't you just love them.

The other week I was driving and my right indicators went all funky, and by funky I mean crazy. The right light on the dash wouldn't flash and the relay sounded like it was preparing to lift off.

Flicked the stalk off and back on again... same deal. Went left on the stalk, all good. "Must have an indicator light out", I thought.

When I got home I put the hazards on. The entire drivers side wasn't doing anything. So that ruled the light being out theory. Google came to the rescue though. Turned out my flasher unit was probably the culprit. It was...

The little bugger is located up above the accelerator pedal, and should "clip-off" it's clip. Mine didn't, so I unbolted the bracket and took the whole thing out.

n.b. The above pic is before I went at it. Can't believe how messy the soldering is on it. It is possible someone's had a go at this already on this flasher unit, or they came this messy from the factory.

I cbf'd tracing the cold solder joint, nor could I be f'd removing the old solder. The thing was originally put together over 20 years ago, and there's not many points there anyway so I went around reheating all the joints, and adding solder where I thought I should.

Went back out to the car, and plugged it in before re-assembling everything. All good!
