Hey all
I was trying to keep this on the down low, as I know a lot of you consider it just 'bling'.
Anyway, I would like to install an engine start button
I have everything I need (replay, cabling etc), and I know what to do, but the guides that I have found have different coloured wiring to mine. So I just need to clarify that the wires that you need to use are the ST and IG2.
If yes, is the pin out, when looking at the front, with the clip at the top:
st b1 ig2
acc b2 ig1
In my case ST is black/red, and IG2 appears to be solid white. Some guides say white/blue, but I don't see a blue stripe.
In case you don't know, I have an NB8C.
Thanks guys, and let the comments about why I don't need one flood in!

Re: Ignition wiring help
I think miata.net has a good write up.
[QUOTE=gksspotmx5;822858]Here are the instructions written out word for word (with out the diagram)
1. Connect 18-22 gauge wire from a 12 volt current (after the ignition switch) to point 1 of light module (contact block). Then take 18-22 gauge wire from point 2 (contact block) and ground.
2. Connect 18-22 gauge wire from a 12 volt current (after the ignition switch) to point 4 of the contact block.
3. Connect 18-22 gauge wire from contact block point 3 to relay point 86. Then ground relay point 85 using 18-22 gauge wire.
4. Connect 12-14 gauge wire from relay point 87 to the ignition wire (inside the dash)
5. using 12-14 gauge wire connect relay point 30 to a 12 volt source (after the ignition switch)
anti-grind in motion installation feature:
draw the 12 volt in step 2 from the emergency brake light
Ignited Push Button should only illuminate when the car is on. Ignited should not grind when the engine power is off. Push button should not grind when emergency brake is off. You can still turn the car on with the keys
DOESNT MATCH UP AT ALL WITH WHAT I HAVE BEEN SEEING
Also in the diagram 87A doesnt show up. Where does this go/connect to?

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Re: Ignition wiring help
Thanks Okibi!
That's where I got the pinout from, but it was mentioning only one wire, hence the question about ST.
However, those other links look promising. I'll have a squiz at them.

Re: Ignition wiring help
Thanks again! I found the answer in the second link: "The two that interest us are black with blue stripe (ST) and black with red stripe (IG2)."
Mine are a different colour, but as long as they are in the same place, we're cooking with gas.
