Re: Mx-5 Now With HID
Not wanting to burst your excitement....but I hope when you fitted your HID to your NA, you also adjusted the headlights (lowering the beam). Simply doing a plug and play on the HID with the old halogen bulb is only half the job. The light source in the HID bulb does not match the Halogen bulb (it's distance from the base), hence the angle of your current headlights will be out. In my experience, they'll be pointed higher up than they should.
If you haven't, don't be surprised if you get a lot of on-coming motorist flashing their lights at you or very annoyed motorist driving in front of you.
And if you were in NSW, your car is now illegal and can be fined for having them fitted. Not sure if the same laws applies to Victoria. Finger's crossed you don't get pulled over by a not too friendly police officer.

Re: Mx-5 Now With HID
Ban for encouraging reckless use of HID bulbs reflector housings not designed for HIDs (as much as for the blatant spamming and disrespect for the forum).
Spammers should expect this kind of crap to be banned. For good reason.
However anyone interested in HIDs should be able to find some good retrofitting forums, since there is a good cottage industry in retrofits, using the proper HID projectors.
Much better than encouraging people to recklessly use reflectors with xenon bulbs, giving MX5ers a bad name.

So glad you covered it Hammer, I am so sick of being blinded by reckless Ebay users and the occasional JDM Civic

In regards to publishing there facebook images, did you have permission? Because you gave us the impression it was your vehicle.
P.S it's a hard top (removable), not a hard roof

I am surprised that this blatant bit of unsolicited advertising for an illegal set up has not yet been binned by the moderators. Amazing that illegal products are so readily available .

Re: Mx-5 Now With HID
techically not illegal.
All you needa do is add washers to your headlights
which noone would bother.
Easy to get engineered.
ANDD..
on an NA hid yes is a miSTAKEEE
NB with neww 9006bulb headlights however looks nice doesnt blind anyone.. long as they are aimed down
Gives MORE LIGHT..
not in the rain though "stock is better"
Looks very nice
and cheap n easy to install.
I wasnt advertising i was just giving you guys an actual BETTER price than this user did.. the part where i wrote Slimx Vision Australia was a joke.

I'm trying to give this user the benefit of the doubt; that's my prerogative. The brand name they've pushed has been blocked by the forum and i've chosen to leave the images up.
Try and be more friendly to new forum members.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Re: Mx-5 Now With HID
for starters your kit is a 35w weak as sh*t a regular bulb H4 i presume in your case. roughly projects a 25w beam.. your hid is weak we know that too now.
The kits i got are made in Italy and are 55W generate actually more light. ACCORD EURO's use 55w from my understanding (the late model anyway).
Slim Ballast are prowned to heating up i personaly havent had any problems but i try not to sell them i can getthem to.
Your kit is pretty much a H.o.d (just makes it WHITE) not more light.
and guys
If u wanna be a ... on the road for power H4 and H7 100W kits are available too. (if u wanna put it on ebay AU i can order these 4u)
Anyway besides the point..
No advertising on the forum, im a web designer u dont see me posting my site up everywhere..
