Interesting topic as i just purchased a 5 speed NB gearbox for my NA6.

Is it possible i may end up having the same problem when i try to install it? or is it specific to the 6 speed

I don't see why you can't swap them out?

I had an NA6 box in mine once upon a time and all we did was swap the sensors.

I have a NA6. Took out the NA6 box and put in a NB 6 speed. Put the speedo sender from the NA6 box into the NB 6 speed, and yes spliced the wires as you have said.

I have a 6 speed and a 4.1 Torsen. I've checked my speedo vs a GPS and it's nearly 100% accurate whereas it was a margin out with the 4.3 open and the NA6 5 speed. Pretty sure it read high in the factory configuration.
