only took a couple of shots (two hands on the wheel!) but I'll put them up tonight. Great drive! I did get stuck behind a caravan on the way down the mountains but otherwise a fantastic trip.

Hey All, I was the newbie on Sunday, with the 20 year old whiteNA. I guess you could tell I was a newbie as I foolishly turned up on time, and opted for Macca's coffee (epic fail!) versus Rob's offer for a real coffee! Perhaps next time.

The run up from Richmond was superb, a dozen or so 5's tops down, and a crisp Autumn morning was a perfect recipe for a spirited run over the Hawkesbury and on to Kurrajong. Rob, Victor and Myself just squeezed by a ute, and gave us a clear run at the mountain. the run across Bells Line was magic, with only 1 "rozza" along the way, I hope no one gets a follow up note from this guy...;->

Regroupinga t Lithgow, saw a few more 5'ers joining us for the run through Tarana and O'Connell and on to Bathurst. That section was great fun, with some of the bumps making my 20 year old suspension work hard! (Time for a Flyin Miata Stage 2 upgrade me thinks!).

A bit of traffic into Sofala was a little unusual, but once we arrived at the Old Sofala Gaol (spelt correctly I hope ;->) the breakfast and banter was great, and made me and a few other newbies feel right at home.

Around 1130 we saddled up and headed for home via Ilford, Capertee and Lithgow, for a much slower run over Bells Line, before returning home.

I had a great day and hope the pics are good .... I have more but the upload feature here is so 1995 :-)

Stu ,I did miss a gear went into 5th instead of 3rd on one overtake wondered why i was struggling to get some momentum. I think all my cogs are still in the box. I hope to share and enjoy more runs with the white knight.(LOL).The old Vic not shy surprised you passed him.

Nar Stu, I was so impressed with your long range shots, I had to run to the local camping store to get an army grade binoculars

But given that I was the only Goldie on the day I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you've got me on your shots

Geez guys, for the oldest 5 on the run, with the smallest engine, I reckon I did OK (for a newbie), the car loved the run, but I had to drive it like I stole it to keep up...

Will bring the Mrs next time... she is much better with the camera
