popping sound coming from air intake

hey guys, am hearing a popping sound come from the air intake of my na8, any idea what it could be??

if you have a aftermarket intake, then it is the iac valve (or similar) opening and closing.

Is it quiet or loud? If your timing is well off you can backfire out the intake but you'll know if you do.

its quiet, can only really notice it at idle, and timing isnt out, has just been advanced to 14 degrees, and is still doing it.

can you repeat the noise by when car is stationary and you turn the steering wheel left and right it pops? if so - refer to my 1st post.

No, the popping stops when i turn it left and right
