Re: Mania Stage 1 Upgrade Kit
Having test dríven an SE with essentially the stage 1 mods before settling on the SE i bought (with ecu fitted) I have to agree with the posts above that you can sense the factory ecu is a little confused, it wasnt bad, just seemed a bit inconsistent through the gears with the foot down.

An se is essentially the same as every other turbo car. Boost control intercooler exhaust and boost cut defender/computer.

Re: Mania Stage 1 Upgrade Kit
Lol, since we have revived one of my old threads, I may as well comment.
The exhaust is still working awesomely several track days later.
Also found I had to change the throttle body intake cause the standard rubber one kept creeping off on trackdays.
I am thinking(pretty much have to) upgrade the intercooler, as the stock one is heat soaking on 25deg+ trackdays after 6-8 minutes.
Just can't decide on cooling pro 550x140 or 550x180. Recomendations???
I don't really want to change the air intake because that equals ECU which ='s $$$ for getting it tuned.
I also loose coolant on hot trackday's seems to flow into the overflow bottle, then that overfills and spills into the engine bay. Guess I need a higher pressure cap than the stock 9psi one.

or a better radiator? higher pressure cap can = blown hoses etc.
Why do you need a new computer for an intake upgrade? Sorry im ignorant with SE's.

Re: Mania Stage 1 Upgrade Kit
You need the computer mainly to make the thing run right if you change the intake. We are talking a 2-3pound increase in boost which the standard computer never would have been tuned for in the factory.
There are owners here that run with the standard computer and upgraded intake, but since I do track days, it would be a risk not to do the computer if I ever were to do the intake. Running on the street vs track realiably are very different things.

Re: Mania Stage 1 Upgrade Kit
Lol. You really reckon the stock computers map doesnt allow for a 2 psi increase? lol
Factory computers dont use the same algorithms and 12x12 map structure that aftermarkets do. If its not hitting boost cut, its tuned for it..

That's not the only issue. Injectors are too small and the computer doesn't like the increase in size of them. I'm hitting fuel cut by like 5000rpm in 3rd at night..

Re: Mania Stage 1 Upgrade Kit
The boost cut is a fuel cut.
