Metal bracket behind tombstone

Hi,

I have a 91 NA6.

I've pulled off my old tombstone (that was cracked and plastic repaired) and replaced it with a new tombstone only to find that the metal bracket that would hold the tombstone in place at the top was missing. The previous owner (when repairing the old tombstone) must of removed it and now my new tombstone has nothing to securely locate the top against. The screw holes in the tombstone exist, but there is nothing behind it to screw into (nor the screws for that mater).

Am I right in thinking this is missing? Does anyone know where to source something like this? Know of any wreckers that might cheaply part with this bracket (and screws).
