Just wondering.
Is the standard exhaust system from a NA8 interchangable with a NA6 from the headers back.
Also what are their diameters.

IIRC, yes they are.
NA8 is larger but I don't remember the exact dimensions. This was discussed in a recent thread somewhere I think?

NA8 is 2" NA6 is 1 3/4 I think. I don't think it was a 100% direct swap.
I went from NA6 -> NB8 + SE muffler exhaust.

NB definitely requires some modification to fit NA. the NA8 and NB8 had different hanger locations.

Re: NA6 and NA8 Standard Exhaust Systems
Certainly fit wise fron the catback NA6/8 swap ok , can't remember them being a different diameter but they maybe.Not sure about forward of the cat.
I know that after market catbacks eg Genie swapped NA 6 to 8 and all hangers etc lined up and suspect that if we had no dramas doing that that the pipe diameter out of the cat on both was the same.
One of the dramas of swapping these days is that the cars are getting old and may have had built up systems in place that locate the cat in a different place and even the cat back may not swap easily, but if it is OE NA6 the catback swaps to NA8 and the other way.
Peter.

Re: NA6 and NA8 Standard Exhaust Systems
I am getting alot of good feedback but it appears I may not be able to just swap a good condition NA8 exhaust system from the headers back to a NA6.

I am almost certain that you CAN do this.
