NA6 Overheating! need help!

Postby mx9394 » Tue Mar 08, 2011 11:12 pm

Hi, any ideas as for why my 1990 na6 import is over heating would be great.
ive changed the coolant and thermosat and water pump seems to be working but still overheats 10 or 15mins into a drive...
so a bit lost as for my next step in trying to fix da problem.... and dont really want to get my mech to start a blind search of the problem...as i might need new parts etc...
anyways any ideas would be great n thanks in advance!

Theres a good chance the cooling system is full of gunk and needs a good flush, mine was like this when I bought it.

A clogged radiator, my brother owned two MX5s and both suffered from blocked radiators due to crud in the system.
Oh dear, the wick in the engine's gone out.

Fans kicking in?

When I first got my MX5 it was overheating due gunk in the cooling system.
