Quality paintwork?

Hi guys,

We are closing in on the time when my car will finally be ready for paint.

I am expecting the body to be perfect when we are done, so the painter will have little more to do than prep and paint the car and hardtop. We will even pull the windscreen and glass out for them.

We are sticking with the original white. Should be an easy job as the engine bay, doorjambs, boot, etc will not need to be done. However, I want the best job possible. Money isn't an object (within reason of course).

I have read after searching that Hume have a good rep. Is their paintwork really top notch? Any other recommendations of spraypainters in Sydney or the surrounding areas?

+1 for Hume Smash Repairs. Service is also top notch.

Though they can cost slightly more, but that's what you need to weigh up, if the extra they charge is worth it in the long term.

IMO, it is as I'll be stuck with the car for awhile and probably see it daily.

Your doing the hard part of the preparation so why not paint it yourself? It's not very difficult

90% of the finish depends on the work your doing so any spraypainter would be able to do a top notch job.

By prep, I mean body repairs. Sanding/priming will still need to be done by the shop.

TBH, I did consider painting it myself but I freaking HATE sanding. I don't know why but I would rather clean toilets than rub back a car.

Add to this that I am not any good with a spray gun. I might get away with painting it in acrylic but 2 pak would probably be a disaster. My old man could probably pull it off, and we do have access to a spray booth, but the whole issue of prepping the car still compels me to give it to someone else I think...

hello mate... i have a good friend who has been painting show cars for over 15yrs now give him a buz im certin he wouldnt dissapoint!!!! gas250 restorations....97730598.... he is always spraying olskool rotors and im sure their would be sumthing at the workshop to show the quality of his work!! mayhem jnr.....
