Hi peeps,
Kinda stuck on this one, I'm aware of the pros and cons etc..
Currently on 17's with bigger brakes. Looking to go down to 15" wheels and after tips to measure the maximum size rotors/calipers that I can fit behind the smaller rims
Thanks, I want to avoid trial and error where possible

NB8B brakes will fit behind many 15" wheels (such as 6ULs), and they will fit behind MOST 15" wheels (but not all) with the aid of spacers.
How big are your brakes? What sort of wheels are you considering?

Re: Little wheels or big brakes...Dilema
Seeing as how you've got an NA6 even NB8A brakes are a bit bigger, and happily fit behind 15s, and I think some 14s (do check first!!)
if you're in Vic I can bring one of my 15s down to Garage Cafe one Thursday if you want to stick it on the jack and see how one fits over the brakes. (you'll need to do it outside, I don't think robin will be a fan of doing car work in the shop)
I've got OEM NB8A rims (15x6+40), and some ROH Mesh (15x6.5+38) (less caliper clearance), and some crappy Volks (15x6.5+50) (practically no caliper clearance)
edit:
disregard.
just saw, NSW.

Re: Little wheels or big brakes...Dilema
Thanks for the advice, I will wait until the next meet in Sydney to check out other rides..
I'll be content atm. just running stock brakes with my 17's the new brakes are not fitted yet because of my change of heart with the rim size issue.
oh so confusing ;S

Re: Little wheels or big brakes...Dilema
most rotors attached to 280mm rotors will fit 90% of 15 inch rims. but it is normally the wide width of the calipers (if 4 pot) that cause most issues.
i would do some measurements with the new caliper on a test fit, and also measure the distance from the mounting area on the rims and the back of the spokes of the fims.

Re: Little wheels or big brakes...Dilema
Glad you picked up on that it was only a matter of time I just wasn't bothered to fully explain earlier I just went back to stock brakes from my willwood brake kit.
Hopefully I can sort out the wheel issue shortly, I have been purchasing parts lately and keep swapping and changing things around. My original brakes have great pads and rotors on them I just feel like the bigger brake kit could be wasted if left unused
Ps thanks for the short shifted tip in the other post
