Hey,
I own a 1989 Eunos Roadster aka NA Mazda Mx5.
Last summer I had the issue of my battery going flat due to my high beams coming on and staying on if it was left sitting out in the sun.
I dealt with this by pushing the indicator stalk into high beam position when parked.
A year on and this has progressed to a worse issue.
Driving at night with the lights on, my high beams will come on and stay on if I use an indicator or go over a bump or accidentally touch the indicator stalk.
It doesn't happen each time but happens often enough that I pity the other drivers and as a result avoid driving at night.
In the past week I have also had the battery and oil (I think - its the two left hand side red lights that come on in the middle of the dash when you start up) lights come on randomly - I don't think this is to do with bumps or anything though.
And to add a further issue, my right front headlight only works some of the time!
I have absolutely no idea if these issues are related but I finally have some free time and would love to get to the bottom of these problems!
Any help would be very much appreciated
Thanks!

Re: NA high beam troubles!
I had an 88 familia which had an incredibly sensitive high beam switch, you only had to apply the slightest pressure to the stalk and the high beams would turn on. Accidentally flashing people at night while indicating was the norm. A second hand stalk assembly was how I cured the problem. I suspect yours will require the same.
Don't drive it........RALLY it!

Yeah.. I have had the same problem with both my na6's..
Cured it by getting a second hand one from Richard at Mx5 Plus.
I think there about $85.
Then just disconnect battery.
Take off covers around steering wheel. Remove wheel, and replace assembly.
