Hi
The engage / disengage point for my clutch has been getting lower and lower. Then all out of the blue, when cold it is very hard to engage 1st or R and the clutch is biting. Once the car gets warmed up, the bite point gets higher. When engaged i am getting no slippage or sudder. Clutch was done 65k ago by previous owner.
So still can't work out if a hydraulics or clutch plate+ issue. Have workshop manual which talks about 170 - 180 mm for brake and clutch from carpet in rest position. Both around 150mm.
Underneath the clutch fork (before it goes into the bell housing) moves about 11 to 11.5mm (via the slave clutch cyclinder between full travel and no travel.
>> Is 11mm about right for the clutch movement ?
>> Does it sound like a clutch or hydraulics issue ?
Garage quoting about $900 for an installed new clutch .
Thanks !!

Is the slave cylinder leaking? if you pull back the rubber boot and see fluid it's leaking. Have you tried bleeding the clutch?

+1 clutch hydraulics first as the slave cylinders are a consumable.

Very late post
I had the master and slave master cyclinder replaces and "hey presto" good as new!
Disengage point half way.
I could have done the slave and see then rebook, but i did both so can't say which one was at fault. My guess would be the master cyclinder because the slave was not leaking.
Cheers
