Intermittent hesitation and lack of power

Postby spacepants_fb » Sat Feb 12, 2011 2:50 pm

Hi guys. I've recently started to experience some issues after recently replacing my engine. At times when I'm accelerating, I get this feeling of hesitation and lack of power and sometimes what feels to be like a misfire. I've replaced the sparkplugs (oem) and also replaced the leads from NSD leads to top gun leads to try and alleviate the problem, but unfortunately I've had no luck. Pretty sure it's not the engine and I have a feeling that it may be my coil pack that's the issue. I was wondering if any one had a working coil pack that I can use to test on my car to determine if this is the cause of the problem? I'm located near Parramatta so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Still the 1990 NA6? Could well be coilpack as you say - had to replace the coilpack on my old NA6 as the inside of one of the coilpack top turrets which the plug lead plugs into was damaged. It might be worth checking the condition of yours. Btw, did you sort the idle dip problem from last year?

Hi mate. Yes still the na6. :) Finally coming together and just need to get these little nigglies out of the way and I can then finally enjoy driving the little car again.

Danga has kindly let me run some tests with both his spare coil pack as well as the afm to see if I can address the issues with the hesitating and it running rich. Fingers crossed and hopefully i'll be ready in time to go to another group run.

I did manage to sort the Idle dip issue from last year. Adter playing around with the ICV and then resetting the ecu, the idle dip seemed to go away. Hasn't come back since, so i'm a happy chappy.
