Megasquirt problem

Postby Ippa » Sat Feb 05, 2011 5:19 pm

Hey guys. Wodering if there are any megasquirt experts or electronic gurus who can help out.

Ok so I had the car running fine and finally got around to permantly installing the unit Under the carpet. It's a normal megasquirt with the boomslang harness. Put it all in there. Then went to start car and no fuel pump. Since then I have tried the following.

Check continuoity through harness. Check all solder points on board.
Reflash of firmware.

The current issue is even if I power the fuel pump through diag port the injectors appear to be open. Filling up my cylinders with fuel. (not fun)

I assume it started due to me bending the harness and possibly losing connection somewhere and corrupting something. But I am no electronics expert.

Any help would be appriciated

Cheers

have you removed the air flow meter from the car? it has a safety switch that cuts power to the fuel pump unless the engine is running, so if you have removed it you need to figure out a way to work around that.

Yeah I disconnected it and ran fuel pump from diag port. (wire under driver side). I have had the car running for a while so it's definately something to do with the megasquirt me thinks.

Might be worth biting the bullet and asking this question to the none-too-sympathetic crowd over at mt.net. Braineac has forgotten more about the MS, and every series of the unit, than most of us will ever know...

Tried a PNP and fired up instantly. So definitely a MS problem. Now the question is does anyone know how to diagnose what is wrong with the board/harness?
