Yes, I did debate whether to get one or not. I found a new one for sale here in oz, so it work out cheaper and this swayed the decision.
I figure that I am going to end up spending a few thousand dollars on this engine, so I see it as a bit of an insurance policy and it can't hurt to have one.
On top of that you should see the state of the key on the engine I have just taken apart, it is very worn. The wear is from the individual components moving on the end of the crank, so having a one piece item is really going to help stop the fatigue on the key. Also, I want to rev this engine to at least 8.5k rpm, the type of events I do, the driving I do and my end game being stage rally (if I get there) - the engine spends a fair bit of time on or close to the limiter, so I am hoping this will help keep the engine in one piece. time will tell!!
