NB brake specs

I've started to think about upgrading my NA8 brakes again, I think to get my car legal with the turbo I pretty much need to be running brakes from a factory turbocharged model, so SP or SE

Just wondering what the actual differences in rotor size between NB8A and NB8B were, I've heard from some people that SE's ran stock NB8B brakes but I've also seen it mentioned on here that they ran brakes that were available in the US as an option?

I'd assume that the 8B callipers are bigger than the 8A ones aswell?

The NB8B calipers are different to NB8A ones as well aren't they? ie its not just the discs that are different?

All Australian delivered NB8B's and NB8C's came with the sport brakes standard. In America they were available as an upgrade. NB8B/C have dark grey calipers, the SE ones were silver, I actually have SE brakes on my car right now which I swapped for my originals ( needed new slider pins) and my standard STB. I don't know how much piston area difference there is between the 8A and 8B brakes but they're both single piston calipers. Never had the sets side by side to see if there is additional clearance to accomadate the bigger diameter rotor.

I have just done this swap on my 1994 and can say that the front calipers look very similar, with the sole exception of the brackets (which are of course longer to accommodate the bigger rotor). They are, however, clearly larger as they protrude much further on the outer side than the standard NA8 / NB8A brakes (this is what causes most wheel fitment issues). I didn't measure them with my vernier or anything, but to the naked eye the pistons look the same size or at least fairly close. The sliders use a slightly different design and use different rubbers. The pad retaining hardware looks very similar, except that the aftermarket hardware kit I bought did not have pad retaining springs as did the NA8 brakes.

I have not done my rears yet, but these calipers also appear similar to the naked eye. I am planning on installing those this weekend and if I remember, i'll take some pics and do some measurements.

SE brakes and NB8B/C brakes are same,these both have a different part number also because the SE calipers are usually in silver color.

Sorry to bring up this thread and to hijack it for that matter.

Just wondering if anyone else has any recommendations around brakes that will work on the track, I am too in the same situation as Adam with the following setup:
- NB8A front and rear brakes
- Carbotech XP10 and XP8 (front & rear pads)
- 15x9 and A048s

And would like to have some more stopping power at the racetrack, would love to hear from the track racers around what sort of pad combinations they have used and their setups to support what they do on the race track (noted that Hawk seems to be a fav).

What im trying to achieve with the next setup:
- would like better stopping power (I dont lock the tyres at the track)
- better initial bite
- negate the slight fade after 3 laps at wakefield (hard pedal)

So my next step was to go to a 270mm rotor with either wilwood calipers or the NB8B setup, otherwise if someone can recommend pads that will help me achieve what I am after on the existing setup I am all years.

I have a set of NB8b brakes front and rears 270mm front 276 rears $800 for the set,but if want something more serious i have a set of AP racing with radial mount brackets to fit straight onto na6 hubs, it uses 310mm 2 piece rotors $1200,awesome brakes.
I have been running FC Rx7 4 pot calipers and rx7 rear calipers on mine,it uses 270mmx20mm on the front and rear,however the adaptor brackets for these are quite expensive 33500 yen for the front set and 335500 for the rears.

I picked up a set of SE front brakes a month ago, now to work out if I need to upgrade the rears as well
