need info on fitting wheels

Postby rs_simmo » Mon Jan 24, 2011 9:10 pm

Hey guys does anyone have any info on fitting a set of 15 inch x 8 inch wide with 0 offset
Am I going to have to roll guards or will these rims with low profiles fit without much rubbing?

Use this and do you own calculations from your current wheels.

:)

The short answer is yes, you will need to roll, possibly pull a bit, and run some negative camber (serious negative camber if you drop it low enough).

Tyre dimensions will also make a big difference. Of course, 195/50's will fit far easier and rub less than 205s or even 225s.

+0 offset on an MX5 is not for the faint hearted.

Cos it tells you the difference between your current wheels and the 15x0 ET+0 rims you want. Then to go out do your car with a tape measure and see if it all fits.

Since your did not specify any suspension mods, camber adjustments or tyres to be used, so you are the only one that cam really helf yourself. Cos you are the one with all the info in front of you.

When I got my NA6 it had 15x7 12p offset (wheels currently for sale in used parts section ) these were sticking outside the guards slightly & would not pass RWC. in Vic. The car has bilstein shocks & std height springs & was getting guard rub on the back. If I wanted to keep them on I needed to roll the lips & adjust the camber, so I imagine 15x8 0 offset would give you more probs than mine were giving me.
