Informal Run Mt Dandenong - Healsville this Thursday 27/01
I'm thinking it's about time we do a run, it's been a while since we've done one and with the weather being so kind why not =)
So here is what i'm thinking..! It takes in many of my favorite roads closish to Melbourne and should be a bit of fun! =)
-7.30pm meet at the start of Mountain Highway, The Basin for a 7.45pm departure.
-We'll drive up Mountain Highway, through Sassafras and Olinda then across through some back roads to Seville (Warburton Highway) for a breif break at the carpark next to the Shell just before the roundabout in case we've lost anyone. We should arrive here by around 8.30pm.
-From here we'll drive towards Warburton, turning off at Don Road to head up to Healsville stopping at 'Giant Steps' who do a pretty decent coffee, pizza cake etc
-From there we have a few options depending on how people are feeling... I'm thinking we could head up Myers creek road (one of my favorites) then and the end of Myer's Creek road head back down Healsville-Kinglake road (another favorite) back to Healsville. From there we could head back to Mt Dandenong and go and check out the view at Sky High (remember your $4 needed for national park admission)
Let me know if you're coming. All up start to finish it should be around 130km (or about 100 without the Myers Creek road loop) if we do the full route and should be at Sky High to take some photos sometime around 10pm.
Cheers,
Ben

Sounds like it will be a good run, I'll try an make it if I've got my car back - sadly it seems to have taken up residence at the mx5 factory lately

As do I... I've PM'd a few of those people so we should get some form of response soon =)
Sorry to hear about your car Damo... I have a spare seat which you'd be welcome to make use of if you'd like to come and don't have your car =)

Awesome I'm in! this run seems very familiar It would have to be my favourite 'just going out for milk' run . Although part of Dom Rd is gravel as we found out last time its worth getting dirty for the twisties further up though.
I think from memory on our last run up to sky high it was $5 entry and i think we should do a booking for dinner as they nearly didn't let us eat there last time

Hehe, yes it's a good run =)
Oh yeah, thats right... I forgot about the gravel... Shoot, I'll plan an alternative route that avoids Dom rd, i agree the gravel is worth it... But not everyone else might so lets sound people out at the start.
I was thinking we should do dinner in Healsville rather than Sky High as the food is a little better there.

Yeh i agree, We found the food at Sky high was exactly that on price and with very little portions... Cheyne had the right idea with ordering wedges
