Bonnet Dents Fixed

Postby ForceMajeure » Sun Jan 16, 2011 5:53 pm

I have read on here that fixing bonnet dents in the aluminium is tricky, but if anyone knows of any good dent removal guys on the North Shore (Sydney) or Gosford area i would appreciate it.

Basically i have had this pretty bad dent since i bought the car, about 1 inch long and it is at the front of the drivers side bonnet where (i think) some knob reversed a tow bar into the car , and its directly above the bulbous area of the bonnet when you open it, so either way it needs a drill hole to get to.......of course! There are also 2 small stone chip dents in the middle of the bonnet.

I also have a vertical dent down my door, about 5 or 6 inches and shallow, which occurred when a bluescope steel gate blew shut on it.

I also have several small carpark dents on both sides of the car on the back panel and drivers door.

Am i pushing my luck at dent removal here, or am i best off just waiting for a wrecked car and nabbing a bonnet and door?

If you have successfully had several dents removed please let me know who you used and how much it cost etc.

Cheers. 8)

I had a huge number of small dents taken out. Including lots on the bonnet. Cost was $300 from someone in Wollongong. You'd be best just taking it to a few places for quotes. They're specialists and best know what can and can't be repaired by pushing them out.

check your local area either for detailers or larger car yards and ask them who they use ( car yards are big users of these services) .I am sure someone is servicing Gosford.

I took it to the biggest smash repairer at Gosford for their opinion and he said 4K would fix it with a respray, LOL.

Basically he said if you asked someone to dent my car in all the places inaccessible they couldn't have done a better job!

My paint is not that bad i want a respray, but i think i have found one guy (paint less dent repairs) who will have a look at it but hes on holiday ATM.

Good idea Morlock to ask the car yards etc who they use, excellent idea.

I had the car done today at "Dent Rescue" West Gosford by Andrew and i must say the results are beyond my expectations, bloody exceptional IMO, a great price as well, all dents now gone. :D

I can highly recommend Andrew if you are looking for dent removal in the central coast area.

Excellent to hear you had some success in getting the dents out. Are you still looking for a bonnet? If so, good luck in finding one.

No need for any panels mate, panels are "as new" now IMO. :D

The only panel i need now is the nose cone, but that can most likely be resprayed back to life as well.

Cant wait to wash and wax the car now to really see how straight all my panels are. 8)

$250 and worth every cent, i had about 10 or 12 dents done including 2 realy nasty ones, one done by someones tow bar in the bonnet 3 inches and deep, and the second one where a bluescope steel fence slammed my passenger door, around 8 inches long. The rest were the usual carpark door dents, rocks denting the bonnet and some rises in the boot from stuffing too much in and slamming it shut.

Highly recommended and the best mod Ive done so far, bang for buck. :D
