help with gearknob removal

Postby gobsmax » Mon Mar 01, 2010 1:39 pm

I had some issues removing my voodoo knob recently, tried all types of tools with no luck, eventually turned the knob clockwise and then anti clockwise, repeating till it came off!

Yes but you're a big strapping young man.

I've tried to take my Voodoo off recently and the thing wouldn't budge from my chicken arm strength. :(

Looks like im in for a real battle to get my Nardi Sphere off, i glued the bugger on when it became as loose as a Kings Cross hooker.

Its now splitting down the middle in true "Italian build quality" fashion. Naturally they dont make these ones anymore either so a recondition is the only way to go otherwise id hack saw the thing off.

Im going to try the rubber ring method first i think.

In my infinite wisdom i didn't glue it on after all, i found it was held in tight with electrical tape, my tradie mate loves to glue crap on and he suggested that's what we had done a few years back.

Here's the magnificent Nardi sphere..........like anything good in life they dont make it anymore!

It has a crack developing up the aluminium spine, so im planning on gluing it up and sticking it in a vice for a day or two, not sure if i should also give it a coat of varnish or not to bring back the colour a bit.
