Post your turbo / supercharged setup
Took a couple of shots over the weekend :
Its Dmags old Clubman, a real beauty.
Engine:
1.8 with full AVO kit
GT28 Ball bearing turbo
AVO Manifold
AVO Dump
AVO intercooler
Custom made 2.5" exhaust / Stock Cat 2.5in Flanged
Turbosmart Boost controller
Turbosmart BOV
RR Fuel pressure Regulator
Walbro fuel pump
360 cc GTX injectors
Air intake temp sensor
Link G4 Storm ECU
50mm Cooling pro Radiator
Power circa 150rwkw at 10psi
I have picked up some 550cc injectors and will be putting in a Metalcat and getting it retuned soon to run 12psi. I know the next restriction is the AVO downpipe, but im going to leave it in place. gotta stop some where.......
I am really keen to get some thoughts with regards to the Air Intake, up to a genuine 180rwkw DD Shootout mode level is it worth messing around with Cold Air feed given the NA's limited space and that the car is a turbo.....and that air is going to be superheated pre combustion anyway...and is there a noticeable difference on spool / response on a longer intake tract?

Looking good Rob - not sure if you saw this 3 page thread from just over a year ago: CAI and Forced Induction ... waste of time? viewtopic.php?f=81&t=33931

Cheers Jake.....good to be back. I've decided to go with a fabricated air box
Re: Post your turbo / supercharged setup
hey there
been visiting here for a while but never posted anything so i thought i should put up my supercharger setup-
started out as a joke by my mate who had a toyota sc14 blower sitting in the corner of my shed. while i was replacing the t/belt and he was standing around drinkin he picked it up and stuck it in the engine bay, we both laughed mine was a little bit more sinister than his. the next day i bit the bullet and made up the brackets and mounted it in to check if there was any merit in it.
made 90kw atw with no intercooler and a JCAR digital pulse adj. running a 5th injector before the throttle body
so i figured it was worth some more tinkering/money
has since made 120kw atw on 6.5psi boost at 5000rpm with a ford xr6 intercooler and a microtech lt10 ecu
will put up some more pictures with the intercooler fitted soon

Thanks for sharing, i'm surprised there aren't more SC14 setups. Looking forward to seeing more.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

I like it!
I dare say you'd sell a few bracket sets if you ever wanted to!

Re: Post your turbo / supercharged setup
yeah, certainly a few forumites been considering this kind of approach.
Re: Post your turbo / supercharged setup
have been planing to manufacture these brackets as a set for a while. would suit b6 with a/c but no powersteer may also be able to modify lower bracket for adjustment so it could be used on b6 with no a/c and no powersteer if this is requested. if there is enough interest i will work out some costs to supply the bracket kit with all bolts and idler bearing and belt.
if some one could let me know where to start a new post for any further info on these brackets if any one is interested thanks.

Re: Post your turbo / supercharged setup
How loud do you find the blower without having a throttle body pre-charger? Most of the Eaton guys seem to run dual throttle bodies because of the whine even when off boost.loco6 wrote:toyota sc14 blower

I was originaly running with the bypass/blowoff valve vent to atmosphere (until being TOLD OFF by the local registration inspection office that it was an emissions no no) and that was extremely noisy. since i have plumb it back inbetween the air cleaner and the blower it is very quiet off boost and produces a very nice whine when on boost (can only compare against the ROD HADFIELD kits for commodore v6s using the same blower) and i would say it is substaintialy quieter than those under boost. I did retain the clutch and switch it off when not going anywhere in a hurry in which case you would not even know it was supercharged and it also cuts fuel consumption in half as with it on it makes 2psi boost at idle ie 850rpm and full boost at 1200rpm
I will put up some more pics and some vids from some motorkhanas ive attended when i get around to it in the garage section
Thanks for the interest
