Hi all, have noticed that the car gets a vibration through the steering & chassis at around 50 km/h, it isn't there at lower speeds and has disappeared at 60 km/h. No problems to speak of at 100 km/h on the highway either, so I'm thinking its not a wheel balance problem?? Any thoughts? Maybe some slack in steering bushes or similar that gets a harmonic going only at a certain speed? Could be lots of things.
Car is stock, tyres have done only 4,000km, 108 thou on the clock.
Cheers,
Mike

Re: NB8A - vibration at 50 km/h
It could well be the wheels themselves. My factory NB8A ones got buckled somehow (no idea how), and it would vibrate only at about 100km/h. Go faster, and it disappeared, go slower, and it disappeared.
I'd suggest getting the wheels themselves checked to see if they're slightly deformed.

Re: NB8A - vibration at 50 km/h
I have something similar. On my street rims/tyres, there is a vibration that comes in at 50km/h, but is gone by 60 km/h. Nothing at 100. Swap over to the trackday stickies and the problem is gone.
See if you can borrow another set for a test drive and hopefully it goes away.

Re: NB8A - vibration at 50 km/h
I have the same problem with mine, I actually paid to get a wheel allignment/balance done last weekend and came back with the a report telling me all FOUR of my wheels are buckled.
Mine starts shuddering/vibrating around 50km/h, goes away at 60, though I do tend to notice it coming back around 100 up. That seems to have been cleared up by the balance however, so I could have had two issues. Now on the lookout for a new set of wheels!

Geez all 4! Guess its time to go shopping then! Mine's not too bad, just noticeable with 50 km/h being the metro limit you sit on that speed a fair bit. Maybe I'll haver to get some 949's or Enkei's, but then I'll need to go lower, so then..................!!! $$$$

Indeed it is! Kinda fun actually, though I'll probably be only spending a little, not a lot of money around this time of year!
