My 97 NA8 has got an Avo kit on it...I think anyway. The last owner fitted it and there is no invoice for it in my folder but someone else with a newer Avo kit reckons it is similar.
Anyway, I have removed the AC system from the car and hit a snag. The intercooler was bolted to the AC heat exchanger and the oil cooler is bolted to the intercooler.
Looking at the brackets and what not used to mount the intercooler it was designed specifically to be mounted to the heat exchanger. Without the heat exchanger there is just one tab on the intercooler that bolts to the car and the rest of it is supported by the pipes. Not ideal.
So does anyone have any ideas on how to sort this or what I can replace it with?
Avo intercooler?

Re: Avo intercooler?
Make your own brackets. I did this when I installed a bitsa turbo kit in my '92 NA. I used the existing mounting points for the bonnet catch, but there are other mounting points, including the one for the air cond heat exchanger.
Hope this helps.

I basically made some mounting backets that matched the ones shown in the two main pictures on the following link.

Re: Avo intercooler?
Cheers Juffa, bolting to the bonnet catch area sounds the go.
My IC does not have any spare nuts or anything welded to it so maybe I need to make a couple of straps to go around it.
I am suprised that Avo bothered to develop two seperate intercooler styles, I would have thought it would be cheaper / easier to make one universal intercooler with mounts to suit AC and non AC cars.
