Folks,
Went for a quick run to get some pics. Here's a before (stock) and after pics. I'm not a fan of the slammed look. This is exactly was I was going for: the rims fill the wheelarch nicely (as per Mazda brochures!) while the ride is spectacular*. I think the BCs are on a medium setting and it's pure bliss compared to stock. Getting an alignment next week so the handling is not final but it certainly drives like its on rails.
* Note this is my first experience with "sports" suspension so I'm not a very good judge of ride or handling. My previous cars had stock suspension.

What's your distance from the centre of the rim vertically to the guard for both front and back?
The original height was around 380mm front, 370mm rear.

I can see the height difference, maybe 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch (12 - 19mm)....
I can also see that you need an MX5Plus front number plate bracket!

Maybe I measured it wrong but I got 337mm (-43mm) front and 345mm (-25mm) rear. Actually if my original ride height was about the same as you quote, then that makes sense, because the front was WAY higher than the rear, it just looked ridiculous.
The pictures are at a poor angle. Would have been better if the front wheel was straight too..

Yeah, I'm not seeing much of a difference.
Measurement should be from the centre of the hub to the centre of the guard, make sure you are on flat and level ground though. Those pictures do look like there is somewhat of an angle to the ground there so that could be the cause of the lack of difference between the pictures.

Good call Jeo, the other side on the front measured 355mm (-25mm). I'll check again on more level ground.
I need better pix, but i still think this ride height is good with stock wheels. Any lower and you'd be wanting aftermarket wheels especially on the red body colour. black rims are awesome but I'm pretty happy with the near stock look. The main thing is the stiffness and handling, which has transformed the car.

If you don't want the "dumped look" and clear the local supermarket speed humps, run around 343 front and 345 rear.
I'm currently on 335 front and rear. You can see the height in my latest Garage postings, though they're 16"wheels with R-Specs. This height scrapes those supermarket humps.

You can see that the distance from the guard to the top of the tyre is just over one finger width.
I’d only suggest this height if you were going to track the car.
Get the car on level ground. I twist the centre wheel cap so the Mazda “wing” symbol sits vertical and has the middle part of the “wing” pointing forward. I then put the end of the tape inside the “wing” at the centre point and measure vertically to the guard.
You should try to match height either side. Never let the sill seam (where you jack the car) be lower at the rear compared to the front.

I am running Bilsteins with Eibach Pro kit and have 340 front and rear,need to be careful but don't have issues on speed humps.
CB that is two fingers completly fitted between wheel arch and tyre!!Standard is 4.
