It's a brilliant track.....if a bit daunting as there is not much run off in certain areas........and as for "Oh sh*t" corner.....it's very well named. Try and come down to Phillip Island in December, the NSW boys are coming down to play too. It will be fun. :D

Managed to slightly improve my time at Sandown to 1.33.1. So far i really haven't noticed too much of a difference between the R888 and the KU36's. Maybe the Kumho V70's would have been a better option.

Well done Randy, looks like you got plenty of laps in. The track looks narrow in some places. Is that right or is it a camera illusion?

Don’t those turbo’s give you the sh*ts? They blast past you down the straight and then hold you up under brakes and through the corners. Hard to get a clean lap.

Trust me it's really narrow in parts and run off is non existent. Hard to believe they race the V8's on this circuit. Just as a comparison that silver Alfa GTV has a Nissan SR20 turbo engine......I'm a second quicker then him at Winton, which is nice and tight. Yet at Sandown he is almost three seconds quicker due to the two long straights......though I still catch him under brakes.

We get plenty of lap time with the Alfa club. They even use a pace car set up. Pace car goes out as soon as the last car in the previous group goes past the start/finish line. So you don't waste anytime waiting for the previous group to come in. You guys will love the ammount of time you'll get at the Island in December.

Finally got my grooved front and rear DBA brakes, complete with kangaroo paw cooling  and braided hose. Hopefully i won't suffer from brake fade any more....fingers crossed.

No issues with them at all. Being a Mazda wheel they have the perfect offset to fit the car. I haven't even lipped the guards yet as they don't hit. Mind you there's only about 4mm clearance. Only thing I've done different is use 40 series tyres rather then 45 series, so I'm running 225/40/18. I've been after these wheels for ages so I'm glad I finally got them. I just want to fix up some gutter rash and they'll be perfect.

A friend has those wheels on his rx7, but he had them painted charcoal. They look heaps better charcoal.
