Ok, who has one, what brand and do you actually use it to do a tune or just to keep an eye on your tune after the dyno or simply cause its blingy??
So are they worth having seeing any decent unit is $$$$$?

Hi Terry, I use the Innovate gear - the LC-1 wide band which picks up AFR and the SSI-4 sensor interface which I mostly use to pick up RPM, TPS, and any combination of voltages from O2 sensor, MAF, IAT and ECT. AFR without RPM is not very useful. The setup has probably paid for itself 10 times over in not going to the dyno and picking up odd faults.
It plugs into a notebook behind the seat with a USB/serial adaptor. There are no visual displays. The notebook is connected only occasionallly. I only ever log runs because it's virtually impossible to read what's happening in real time - even before you start to think about the obvious safety issues. It serves 2 functions.
Firstly I run it occasionally to improve tuning, mainly checking AFRs at WOT across the full rev range. The easiest way is to do a few full runs from 1000 to 7000rpm in second. Logworks provides a lot of output analysis that I can use to finetune the fuel map. Comparing old logs shows performance gains and losses over time. It's easy enough to spot something which gives you a couple of 10ths from 60 to 100.
Secondly it helps for troubleshooting. I've picked up innacurate readings from the ECT, low voltages from the O2 sensor which are affecting fuel economy and some strange mixture fluctuations. These were the cause of performance problems for over 2 years before I finally picked them as power supply problems to the injectors and replaced the MAIN Relay. No way I would have ever worked that out without seeing the mixtures suddenly dive to 20+.

I have a innovate lc-1 hooked up to my ms pnp. I use it all the time to log and re-tune my fuel map. It works really well and is reliable.

Another vote for LC-1 here, hooks up via serial to my Adaptronic's 2nd serial port. Very tidy unit!

I'm looking at the Auterra Dash Dyno for my Cosworth build NC.

Can also be connected to a GSP and give positioning data for trackwork analysis via things like Google Earth.
Enhanced functions for some vehicles including the NC MX5 that will give continuous AFR readouts etc.

Looks the goods, but can't use with standalone ECU!!!!
Be good if we could get some comments from Sean or Mr Rotary re AFR gear!!!

I have installed a Heat-Sink Bung Extender (HBX-1) - P/N: 3729 - #3729. As I have very high exhaust gas temperatures from my ceramic coated headers (causes my narrow band sensor to sh*t itself),

This, nothing else, I use the LC1 also, I log onto logworks or my aftermarket computers software, I dont have a guage, I read straight off the laptop with SOMEONE ELSE DRIVING, who is comfortable at WOT in 4th to redline. Used to tune my own car.
