HAHA.. Yeah was quite fun driving my POGO Stick back to Sydney.

I didn't go look at the times.. Perhaps i should have. That is a new PB.

Who would have thought with broken shocks on bald street tyres, i still wouldnt come last!! YAY!! hahaha
Im just happy i did not cause some sort of multi car pile up in the FISH HOOK with moves like that.

Thanks Guran,
A - for giving me a battery Triangle,
B - for shooting my spin with your awesome lil camera, and
C - for not blending your car with mine after the spin

Not sure how i forgot, but i got home and realised i still have my old STOCK shocks in the garage
Gonna try and put them in tomorrow and see if they have any life left.

Hopefully i am not too late for entry to the next Club Day and can give my Semis a go.

Thanks for the Blue Triangle :P and dude.. CONGRATS on the 1:16.1... Dude your gonna be setting 1:15's in a stock MX5 1600.
I think its actually better for me to stay in 2A, with you doing that!!!!

YUP!! TIME TO COME IN BEFORE I RUIN ANYONE ELSE'S LAPTIMES!!!

I would load up the drivers rear wheel, and due to the shock destroying itself, the car would start bouncing and jump everywhere!
EEEEEEeeek..... Not great.

Still had a good time, and can not wait to get back out there, with a working car next time!

The video was entertaining to watch. It must have been a handful taming that wild rear end at each corner.

Good to hear you found some old shocks. Hopefully they'll give you a cheap and easy fix.

If you think you'll be better off running supersprints in 2A, keep in mind that there are heaps of guys already in 2A and you're up against Tony Williams' very well sorted NA6 doing 13s at Wakefield Park! You'll be far better off running in 1A (if we can find another starter or two so that they'll open this class), or 1B (with stock 1.6L engine). It also helps the club gain more points towards the club championship, eg 5th in 1B earns 5 points vs 10th in 2A earns 1 point.

Finally got my engine back from the engine builder, minus a lot of parts that went missing for some reason (oil jets, bolts, etc,) so my brother and i started putting it all back together. Pistons went in fine, laid the crank newly blanced crank in with new bearings.... unfortunately it is very dark in the garage and i didnt take the direction 'keeping everything spotlessly clean' serious enough :frown: so when i finally torqued it all up and turned the crank it wouldnt budge but scratched up a few bearings instead, ARHHHH! So we stripped it down and took it all inside the house and reattempted with a few practice runs using the old bearings untill we got it right. Then when my new bearings arrived we put it all together but with success this time!!! :D

Now to put the head on. The head was built by Mike Dyer an engine builder in Brookvale. There isn't too much done to it, new valve stem seals and it has been ported and polished. Have never done a head gasket so not sure if we got it right but it seemed to line up nicely, hopefully it will seal.

Image
Still just the standard cams and ecu for now...

Image
Still just running the standard exhaust for the moment as well.....

Image
And this is basically how it is at the moment. I have also put the water pump on, but when i went to put the thermostat housing on we realised we are missing the bottom half, where it bolts to the engine, so that took a little while to track one down but i ended up getting a second hand one from mania so now i just need to find some more time to continue on....

As for the car itself i haven't done really anything to it yet. When i got the car off dweezle it had a blown rear shock so i put back in the standard shocks so that i could drive it again, havent been to the track with em yet but on the street they feel really good. Also when i got the car it had a set of daisys on it with bald tyres so i bought off the forum a set of na8 wheels for cheap with plenty of tread on them plus they are a bit wider and lighter and i like the look of them too :)

I set him up on a play date while i was at work one day

Welcome aboard "little bro"! Glad to see your engine rebuild is coming along. But I'm a bit puzzled. What went wrong between your Wisemans run (6 weeks ago) and now? Don't tell me Dweezle sold you a dud!?

Haha, no this is a different engine. Dweezle got it orginally so that he could still drive it to work and get the engine rebuilt at the same time but sold it all to me before the engine rebuild was finished. Its also a long nose crank compared to the short nose in there currently. No dud, yet :D

After the last track day in the rain, the patchster was very filthy. For Christmas i got a car care kit so i gave her a bath....

Image

Didn't have enough time to get her waxed as well but i think she came up pretty good without it.
