+1 what Noddy car said, I checked out there site and ended up buying a twin hoop torque bar and are very happy and feel a lot safer :)

at $1200 delivered to Aus -- its very tempting.

Are you looking at this one?

Looks great but you will need to note a couple of things...

You need to gut the doors for the side beams to fit. That means cutting away all the internal metal so your just left with the flimsy outer skin.

The cage is designed for left hand drive cars....see the 'scoop' that is designed to leave room for a drivers seat on the left side to be able to be as far back as possible. Maybe they can run the diagonal the other direction and flip the cross bar over.

If you did go with this, make sure you get a bucket seat and harness first. If you have an accident with that cage and your head hits one of the bars, consider your days spent upright and walking over. Look it up, it happens way too often.

A full cage for the street is silly and dangerous. At the least it needs to be Engineered, or may not be legal for the street.

I'm seriously looking at the miatacage kit for my new toy, it's all 1.5" tube so I think you would need to remake the rear hoop from 1.75" to meet cams regs without FIA certification. I think you also need the x between the rear stays. Still great value, but I reckon post will be more than the estimate shown on gomiata.

When I have ordered, the freight rates have been precise but I have not ordered anything quite this large from them.... After speaking with Bethania Garage (they manufacture the Hard Dog bars), he is sceptical about the freight rates and has suggested it is VERY incorrect... I am ordering a bar, so I will find out! If they cannot honour the freight rate, I will buy it from the manufacturer, as they have told me they can ship the bar partially welded, to reduce the freight charges. I have welders on staff who can finish it when it gets here.....

Hmmmm. Went to place an order on this rollbar and have been told by Gomiata the shipping price is incorrect... There seems little point then getting one imported, unless you consider something like the Hard Bar ($140 to ship) which is much more basic. Probably would not work for me anyway, as it is positioned quite forward and I am reasonably tall. Although it is quite high, I think I would still bash my head on it!

Horrible shame, because the bars themselves are well priced and well manufactured, but by the time I pay $500 for shipping, I can get one locally. Bethania Garage offered to ship one partially made (would then be about $140 to ship the Ace or something similar), but I don't want to be responsible for getting it welded locally.

Bummer!
